It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Hello! Wow what a busy week! Thanksgiving dinner was delicous! Dinner this year was at my house again this year. I really don't mind if dinner is at my house, because I don't have to go anywhere. Things started heading a little sour towards the end, but overall it was a great family dinner. I really enjoy being around all of my family!
My husband seems to really be having a hard time adjusting since his last deployment. He was just getting adjusting to being home then he got deployed. He sat down with me a few days ago and told me he thought it was time to say goodbye to the military and hello on getting better. For anyone who doesn't know my husband has PTSD bad, a shunt in his head behind his right ear, enlarged viens in his brains, the starting of a tumor behind his eyes, depression, and many more. This is all from him being deployed to Iraq for a little over a year. He was in an IED blast, and he was constantly shot at. When he came home he had a really rough time adjusting. Needless to say it looks like we are going to have a rocky road to get things figured out.
This weekend I had my best friends over. I had gotten out of touch with one of my friends for almost 3 years. We had lost track of each other. It took my a year to find out where she was. It was so great to get together with my two best friends! All three of us were hooked my the hip when we were in school. We went out to IHOP and had a few cold ones together! They both ended up staying the night! My husband was such a trooper! He put up with three giggling girls all weekend!
For the past three days we have been trying to put up our Christmas lights. I finaly gave up today. All of our lights besides our icicles, have somethings wrong with them... we sat down for 2 hours and still could not get the whole strand to work. Today Steven and I went to put our tree up and then we come to find out that over half of the tree does not light up. ARRRGGHH! I just walked away. Hopefully I can get the tree to work.
Well, I am going to head off here. My boys are complaining their bellies are growling. Have a good week!

Very Busy Week

Hello again! This has been such a busy week! Although looking at the calender I can see that it is not going to slow down anytime soon at the Stone household. I went to the Periodontist this week to have some more work done on my mouth. They uncovered my right upper canine in late August. I went in because the bracket on my right  upper canine was rubbing into gums. When I went in I thought they werejust going to cut a bigger whole in my gums... wrong... they uncovered more of my tooth which ment I had to numbed everywhere, which hurt, and the had to take more of the boney-like shell that was covering it off, plus make the hole bigger! It is great that my tooth is moving, but I think my mouth hurt more this time than the last time and last time they did more work! My upper right canine is located just under my right nostril laying on its side. Just to give you an idea.
Anywho, I went out with some friends for a little R&R after I had mid terms last week. I had so much fun! I never thought it was possible for me to actually let me hair down for a while and act my age! (I am going to be sharing a picture that I took of me wearing a crazy hat! We all wore crazy hats!)
Patrick has been having some trouble this week. He is has stopped taking some of his medications due to bad side affects so his PTSD is coming back. He had a blackout or "episode" this week. I forgot how bad they were. His doctor will be back in office this week so hopefully she can get him on new medications fast. I worry so much for him.
Steven had grandparents day on Friday at school! He had a blast! He came home with a lot of arts and crafts things. He made some rings, two pilgrims hats, and a thanksgiving door decoration. I am so proud of him! He did such a good job! I am so glad that he really likes school!
Well, I am going to hop off here! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Waiting on the Holidays

Hello everyone! It has definitly not slowed down in the Stone household yet. We are trying to get everything ready for Thanksgiving next week! I really LOVE the holidays. I just love being surrounded by family and friends. And of course I LOVE the food! We always cook way too much, and have tons of left overs. I always tell my husband, "We are not buying any groceries until all of this food disappears!". Of course a few days later he starts sneaking some out to the trash! I sure do love that man! He always has me smiling.
Steven is doing really great with talking more. I am so proud of him. When he actually puts his mind to doing something he shows how smart he really is. I keep telling everyone he is just being coy, so we won't start treating him like a big kid.
I finally have all of my pictures hung up. Now all I need to do is to start decorating! I have started decorating my kitchen. Our colors are a deep red, and tan. It is so pretty! I keep telling my husband we need to pretty things up!
On Veterans Day we tried to go to Applebee's for a free dinner but they were packed! So we just met up with some friends at a local restuarant. It was so much fun! My husband wore his uniform and his buddy wore his as well.
Well, I am going to log off here. Have a great week!

Where is the light at the end of the tunnel?

Hello! What a week! My husband came home early Tuesday morning! I got to spend about 6 hours with him before I had to go to work. :( I used all of my vacation and sick time when he had his surgery so I was unable to take a small leave from work. We have been so busy this week! It seems like we are never home. Atleast I feel like I am never home. Lately I am still only getting 3-4 hours sleep a day if I am lucky. Thrusday night I received a call from my husband ,while I was in the middle of an exam, telling me that he had just been in a accident. He was coming off of an overpass and there deer at the bottom of the overpass. He slowed down, and one deer ran to the side, while the other deer darted back across the road. He slammed the brakes, went sliding into the grass, and rolled my car 3 times. I was so frantic! I failed my exam (Thank goodness it was the pre-test), ran up to my neighbors and asked for a ride. When I got there the car was still on its roof, but he was out of the car and he said he felt fine. I took him to hospital anyway just to be sure he was alright. I was told I had to keep an eye on him for the next 12 hours, for a possible concusion and movement of his shunt. He was only diagnosed with severe whip lash. Needless to say I had to stay home from work, and when I called in they said I would be fired if I didn't show up. Well, I did not show up... I choose my family over work any day of the week. I am not fired, thank goodness, but I did have to go and get a new car. It really stinks, my car was 3 months from being paid off, and now I am paying double what I was before. I am really glad my husband is okay, but at the same time I wish my car would poof itself back to normal. lol (I will be posting a picture of the disaster)
Enough of the sad stuff :) Steven is such a busy body now a days! His bike is in our basement now and within 4 days he learned to ride his bike with out help. I am so proud of him! Steven is also so happy that daddy is home. They are constantly playing all the time! When you see them together you would think that Patrick never left. I really am glad that he is home... I just wish I got to spend more time with him and Steven.
Well, this is about all the time I have for now. Catch you next week!
